FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What precaution has been taken to ensure it is safe for me to use my credit card to make a scholarship (or other) donation?
We took care to choose a site Host with state-of-the-art security credentials.  You may rest assured that when you see the label at the bottom of the page, "Security Metrics, PCI Certified," you are receiving the best security protection available.

2. What is the maximum amount that I may donate on the Fundraising page, and is there a minimum amount?
The maximum transaction amount is $25,000, but multiple transactions are allowed if an amount beyond that amount is intended.  The minimum amount is $10.

3. Is there a fee when I make a credit card donation?
Yes, there is an admin fee charged with each transaction of 5.9%, plus a $.75 transaction fee.  You have the option of adding this admin fee to your donation amount, so that the entire donation amount will go to the scholarship fund (or other cause), or the admin fee may be deducted from the amount you are donating.  Your Call.

4. How long has the Class of '67 been giving out scholarships? This is the first I am hearing of it.
Good question.  This is actually the inaugural year of the Schloarship effort.  The idea was born following our 2017 Golden Graduation Ceremony, when Shirley Mae Johnson Smith stepped up to admonish the class, reminding us of our heretofore neglected Legacy obligation to address this dire need.  And as it is always better late than never, we are now committed to this formal fundraising effort to help educate future Greenwoodians.
