LOUISE PERKINS HARVEY
October 31, 1947~ June 3, 2019
Louise Perkins Harvey was born on October 31, 1947, to the union the late Augusta Perkins, Sr. and Luvenia Common Perkins in Greenwood, MS.
She transitioned to her heavenly home on June 03, 2019. Her parents, one child, B. J. Harvey Ill, three brothers: Wymon Common, Augustus Perkins Jr. and William Henry Perkins; one sister: Dorothy Jean Cannon all preceded her in death.
Louise professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of New Zion M. B. Church under the leader ship of Rev. Calvin E. Collins, where she served as an active usher.
On July 19, 1974, she married the love of her life B.J. Harvey Jr., they remain married until God called her home.
Louise received her high school diploma from Threadgill High School.
After high school, she attended Mississippi Valley State University and earned her bachelor and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice, graduating Summa Cum Laude of her class. Years later, she perused a doctoral degree in psychology from Capella University. She was employed by the City df Greenwood Police Department for over 20 years as a school crossing guard.
Louise leaves to cherish her beautiful memories to her beloved husband of 45 years: B.J. Harvey Jr. of Greenwood, MS; two daughters: Cassandra (Jason) Perkins-Thomas of Greenwood, MS and Kimberly (Jamario) Harvey-Weaver of Olive Branch, MS; one son: Anthony Perkins of Greenwood, MS; nine sisters: Ruthie Coleman, Rose(Lonnie) Walker and Maxine Hill all of Detroit, MI, Sharlean Tabor, Gloria Harris, Dorothy Puller and Pecola(Walter) MCKinney all of Greenwood, MS, Clara Cole and Linda(Carl) McGill both of Chicago, IL.; three brothers: Curtis Flowers, Milton Wright and Marvin Harris all of Greenwood, MS; fourteen grandchildren: Cordero Perkins, Shandreca Gibson, Corsheckia Westbrook, Antoinette Hancock, Kimberlyn Perkins, Anfernee Perkins, Tre’ Juan Perkins, Anthony Perkins, Jr., Jahiem Perkins, Keshawn Freeman, Keanna Freeman, Jamario Weaver Jr., Jamyia Weaver, and Jamari Weaver; six great grandchildren: Cardny Perkins, Cordero Perkins Jr., Daniel Gibson Jr., Ma’Kyi Gibson, Paris Westbrook, Ny'Ema Hancock and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
